This section is responsible for purchases of supplies exceeding 10 kCHF covering contracts, amendments and invitations to tender for supplies for the Accelerators and Technology Sector.

Jérôme Pierlot
Jérôme Pierlot graduated in Electrical Engineering in Belgium, and joined CERN in 1998. He started as a project manager in the Engineering Department, and was appointed section leader responsible for low voltage distribution network, in 2008. After 18 years in the Engineering Department, Jérôme gave his career a new orientation and joined the IPT-PI group in 2016, as Head of Procurement for Accelerators & Technology in charge of all procurement activities related to accelerators and technology for CERN.
Procurement Officer
Floris Bonthond
Floris completed his technical education in France and joined CERN in 1991. He was responsible for the installation of various safety systems in CERN’s accelerators and experimental areas before joining the Procurement Service in 2009.
Bjorn Jenssen
Bjorn completed his Business (MBA) and Mechanical Engineering education (MSc) in Bergen and Trondheim (Norway). Having worked as a financial controller in Norway he joined CERN in 1996 as an Assistant Department Planner. Since 2009 he has worked within the Procurement Service as a Procurement and contract officer.
Ivo Lobmaier
Ivo was involved in procurement activities related to the aeronautic industry before joining CERN as a member of the Procurement Service.
Laszlo Abel
Laszlo graduated in 1982 with Summa Cum Laude diploma from the Electro Physics Faculty in St. Petersburgh and joined CERN, as a member of the Procurement Service, in 1994.
Julia Bentchikou
Julia completed her Master degree in Management Science in Brussels, Belgium. She joined CERN as a Junior Procurement Officer in January 2022.
Daniel Schoerling
Dr. Daniel Schoerling received his M.Sc. in Engineering and MBA degree in 2009 and his PhD in 2012 from the Technical University of Freiberg, Germany. Since 2009, he was with CERN working on normal- and superconducting accelerator magnet projects for several present and future machines like HL-LHC, LHC, CLIC, FCC, PS and ELENA. After more than 10 years in the Technology Department, Daniel gave his career a new orientation and joined the IPT-PI group in 2021 as procurement officer.
