Estonian company to create virtual CERN for CERN Alumni Second Collisions worldwide event

Virtual CERN by Estonian company

CERN has placed its first contract with the Estonian company, Miltton Events, following the country’s accession to Associate Member State status. The contract covers the design, provision and support of a virtual event space for the Organization’s CERN Alumni Second Collisions event https://alumni.cern/page/secondcollisions, which will take place from 1st to 3rd October. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it was not possible to host the event in person. However, Miltton Events has proposed to develop an immersive virtual space that will transport event attendees back to CERN. Online “spaces” will include the Globe, the main Auditorium and the under-construction Science Gateway.

“We were particularly impressed with Miltton’s comprehensive and professional offer,” said Rachel Bray, the Head of Alumni Relations at CERN. “Our goal is to bring our alumni back to CERN, Miltton fully understood what we are trying to achieve with this event.”

The company was the lowest compliant bidder in a price enquiry run by the Procurement Service.
